本片根据五十岚贯久同名小说改编。所谓交涉人（谈判者），即指通过掌握犯罪分子的心理，用谈判的形式与罪犯周旋，以解决案件的警种。为了对抗日益严重的欧美式犯罪，日本警视厅增设了交涉人这一部门。石田修平（三上博史）就是一名交涉人，他曾在FBI供职，具有丰富的破案经验，与美丽的女探员远野麻衣子（鹤田真由）为师徒关系，然两人默契的合作却遭到同事的猜疑和诽谤。远野因此丢到交涉人的职务，蜷居资料室中。某天三名罪犯闯入总合医院，劫持47名人质。籍由此案，石田和远野这对阔别已久的搭档再次走到一起……
This animation series is about some animals on a deserted tropical island, where various things are mysteriously found. Most of them want to cohabit happily: the leader Ovide and his cousin named Saphron, the cook and gardener, both platypuses, the red lizard Polo who's the janitor and muscles, the seagull Groaner, the koalas Do, re and Mi and the kangaroo Mathilda, against whom the evil serpent Cy and his intrinsically gentle helper Bobo the toucan conceive horrible plans, which always fail in the end.
